VIRAL FEVER TREATMENT

In most people, the normal body temperature is around 37°C, and a temperature of 1 degree or more above this is considered a fever. A viral fever is a type of fever that results from a viral infection. When the body is infected with a viral illness, such as a cold or flu, the immune system responds by raising the body’s temperature to make it less hospitable to the virus. This article will discuss dengue fever and viral fever.

According to medical professionals, fever or an increased body temperature can be caused by excessive sun exposure, dehydration, bacterial or viral infections, heat exhaustion, or inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, it may develop as a side effect of certain treatments, such as antibiotics and some medications used to treat hypertension or seizures. Some common symptoms of fever include perspiration, tiredness, loss of appetite, and shivering.

DENGUE FEVER

Dengue Fever

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne disease that occurs in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Mild dengue fever causes high fever and flu-like symptoms. The severe form of this fever, also called dengue haemorrhagic fever, can cause severe bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure (shock) and death.

CAUSE OF DENGUE FEVER

Dengue fever cause is any of the four types of the dengue virus. You cannot get dengue fever if you are close to an infected person. Instead, it is spread through mosquito bites. It is not a communicable disease.

The two types of mosquitoes that most commonly spread dengue viruses are common both in and around human habitats. When a mosquito bites a person infected with a dengue virus, the virus enters the mosquito. When the infected mosquito bites another person, the virus enters that person’s bloodstream and causes an infection.

After you recover from dengue fever, you will have long-term immunity to the type of virus that infected you, but not to the other three types of dengue virus. This means that you may be re-infected with one of the other three types of viruses in the future. The risk of developing severe dengue viral fever increases if you get dengue a second, third, or fourth time.

EFFECTIVE VIRAL FEVER TREATMENT

Viral Fever Treatment

The first step in viral fever treatment is to focus on reducing symptoms. In most cases, viral fever treatment may not be necessary, as your body fights the virus and recovers on its own. However, if a person’s condition does not normalize within 3-4 days, the person should be treated for viral fever. Unlike bacterial infections, antibiotics do not affect viruses. However, you can take antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infections. In some cases, doctors prescribe antiviral drugs for specific viral diseases whose diagnosis has been confirmed by laboratory tests. In these  cases, antiviral therapy can be started. Viral fever can be treated with acetaminophen and antihistamines.
